CAMERA: A stomach of steel I have not

A month or so I was taking photos from the Ford Tri-Motor during its flight over Vero Beach and a few weeks ago I was on the “Green Machine” out in the lagoon. Both assignments required me to be on the plane or boat while it was moving, one catch; I hate both these methods of travel.

Maybe hate is too strong of word, maybe I should say: after I was done, death would have been more enjoyable.

A as I told Captain Ingmar Herrmann, you just have to suck it up and do it to get the photos you want. A normal person would just say, “take some drugs, or wear those wrist bands.”

Well, one problem, on most assignments where I find myself flying or taking a boat ride there is no time and they usually come out of the blue, just as I start to turn green.

I am proud to say that I’ve never puked during an assignment, not that I’m challenging the next pilot or captain. I got the shots and even video on the boat, and they kept my eyes on land.
