John Augustus Carr III, 79, died Aug. 11, 2012, at Sebastian River Medical Center.
He was born in Arlington, Mass., and moved to Sebastian in 2002, coming from Weymouth, Mass.
He was a veteran who served in the Coast Guard.
He spent most of his career as a lobsterman for the fishing industry.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Rita Carr, of Sebastian; sons, John Carr and Richard Carr, both of Weymouth, and Robert Carr, of Hansen, Mass.; brothers, Samuel Carr, of Tiverton, R.I., and Robert Carr, of Kennebunkport, Maine; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Richard Carr.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 17 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church.
