James Joseph Loidl Sr., 78, died Aug. 11, 2012, at Indian River Medical Center.
He was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., and moved to Vero Beach 40 years ago, coming from his birthplace.
He retired as a mechanic, having worked for Fred Coyne and Janie Dean Chevrolet and Vatland Oldsmobile in Vero Beach.
He attended St. Helen Catholic Church.
Survivors include his sons, James J. Loidl Jr., Kevin Christman, Brian Loidl and Kenny Christman; daughters, Joan Hogan, Sandy Warford, Robyn James, Denise Vourhees, Cindy Loidl and Sherri Philo; sister, Judy Gratz; brother, Robert “Bob” Loidl; 22 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Dora Loidl and Lynn Loidl; and sister, Maryann Loidl.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Aug. 16 at Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery, Vero Beach.
