Antique show coming to Vero Beach in Aug. and Oct. at IRC Fairgrounds

VERO BEACH — Puchstein Promotions, long known as one of the premier antique show promoters in the country, is expanding its list of highly successful South Florida shows with the introduction of two new shows in Vero Beach.

The hugely popular Vero Beach Winter Antiques Extravaganza has consistently drawn large crowds of avid antique shoppers and attracted high quality dealers from across the U.S. and Canada.

Now, Kay and Bill Puchstein plan to capitalize on this winning combination with the addition of two new shows to round out their show schedule.

These shows will cater to a younger, hipper market looking for artwork, vintage collectibles, and retro decorative items.

“These two new shows have been created to bring year-round collecting to Indian River County,” notes Kay Puchstein, the engaging and entertaining show promoter.

“In South Florida, there are shows nearly every weekend during the season, but when the snowbirds go home, our loyal customers are left waiting until next winter for a show,” Puchstein added.

These two new shows will help fill that void.

Show dates are August 17, 18, and 19 and October 26, 27, and 28 at the Indian River County Fairgrounds.

Each show will feature over 100 dealers carefully selected for their wide range of merchandise and their retro appeal. Of course, seasoned antique collectors will still find unique one-of-a-kind items from the 18th and 19th century, but these two new shows will have a distinctly 20th century vibe.

Show goers will find everything from Art Deco jewelry to mid-century Highwaymen paintings, from vintage lamps and lighting to collectible ephemera, signs, pottery, porcelain, toys, vintage clothing, and purses.

All dealers will be set up indoors in the air conditioned Expo Hall for cool, comfortable shopping even in the dog days of August.

Bill Puchstein, the other half of this popular husband and wife team, notes that these shows will be especially popular among families.

“Antique shows are not just for your grandmother any more,” he states enthusiastically. “At the new Antique and Vintage Collectibles Shows, children are welcomed and encouraged to ask questions. In fact, children 16 and under are admitted free.”

So Vero locals should plan to bring the entire family. What better way to introduce your children and grandchildren to a hobby that will bring them a lifetime of joy?

Introducing youngsters to collecting, be it coins or action figures, can ignite a passion that will last their entire lives. And, shopping antiques and collectibles shows can be fun for the entire family.

Mom and grandma can search for estate jewelry, grandma’s silver pattern, sewing notions, or souvenir china. Dad and grandpa can hunt for fishing lures, antique tools, golf clubs, or antique books.

Teenage girls love vintage hats, handbags, clothing, costume jewelry, and quirky collectibles. Teenage boys love to poke around the military items, weapons, postcards, and action figures.

Even the youngest collectors can search through dolls, antique toys and buttons, many of which can be purchased for under a dollar.

Each show will open for early buyers at Noon on Friday with a $10 admission ticket. That ticket is good for the entire weekend.

General admission is $6 with show hours on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

As always, there will be great food available, jewelry repair on site, and free parking.

The Indian River Fairgrounds can be reached off I-95 via the State Road 60 exit. Go east to 58th Ave., turn left, and continue 8 miles north to the fairgrounds.
