Vernell Carson, 54, died July 31, 2012, at St. Lucie Medical Center in Port St. Lucie.
She was a born in Douglas, Ga., and lived in Vero Beach for four years, coming from Fort Pierce.
She was employed by Palm Court Resort.
She attended the schools of St. Lucie County.
Survivors include her sons, Johnny Collins and Jerome Carson, both of Fort Pierce; daughter, Stephanie Brown, of Vero Beach; brothers, Lonnie Carson, of Fort Pierce, Jimmy Carson Sr., of Tampa and Benny Carson and Larry Carson, both of Vero Beach; sisters, Irene Ghent, of Winter Haven, Gloria Booth, of Fort Pierce and April Carson, of Vero Beach; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lonnie Carson Sr.; mother, Ruby Carter; and sister, Martha Ann Shaw.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Aug. 10 and 9 to 10 a.m. Aug. 11 at Sarah’s Memorial Chapel in Fort Pierce.
A celebration of life will be at 11 a.m. Aug. 11 at Greater New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Pierce.
Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
