100 volunteers needed for Good Grades Pool Party at Gifford pool

GIFFORD — The Youth Guidance is seeking 100 volunteers to watch out for 100 children who will join another 100 in participating in the organization’s Good Grades Pool Party taking place at the Gifford Aquatic Center on Saturday from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

Those interested in volunteering are encouraged to contact Piper Johnson by calling (772) 770-5040 or emailing pjohnson@ircgov.com.

Youth Guidance already has 100 volunteers but needs 100 more to ensure that each child will be covered. Volunteers need to be at least 16 years old.

“Each year we reward the children enrolled in our program who brought home good or improved grades during the school year by hosting a private pool party filled with music, games, food and fun! We serve about 700 ‘at risk’ children in grades K-12 from Indian River County, and this event is something they are encouraged to strive for

throughout the school year,” Youth Guidance organizers said.

The pool party is a private event at the Gifford Aquatic Center, located at 4895 43rd Ave., Vero Beach.
