Special Olympics golf team thinks Sandridge Golf Course rocks

VERO BEACH — The Special Olympics golf athletes would like to thank Bela Nagy, Sandridge Golf Director, and Richard, the wonderful starter who helps us each week, and Sandridge Golf Club.

For the past several years, Sandridge Golf Club has allowed the Special Olympics golf team to practice at their fine facility. Being able to practice on the driving range, putting green, and the course is a wonderful experience for the athletes.

The staff and golfers at Sandridge have always gone above and beyond to be helpful and to make all of us feel welcome. In these times when it seems so many people are only concerned about themselves and what immediately affects them, it is refreshing to know there are still so many people in our kind and caring community who go out of their way to help others who are not as fortunate as the rest of us.

For that, we say THANK YOU.

The mission of Special Olympics Florida is to provide year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for people with intellectual disabilities who wish to participate, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.

The ultimate objective of Special Olympics Florida is to help people with intellectual disabilities participate as productive and respected members of society at large by offering them a fair opportunity to develop and demonstrate their skills and talents through sports training and competition and by increasing the public’s awareness of their capabilities and needs.
