United Way hosting hurricane prep seminar Wednesday

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Indian River County’s Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster is holding a hurricane preparation seminar as part of its meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 1. The seminar is meant for everyone in the public, including area agencies and businesses.

The event will be held at 8:30 a.m. at the United Way Center, 1836 14th Ave. Vero Beach, with the purpose being to get everyone ready for a potential natural disaster.

The Indian River County VOAD is a humanitarian association of local non-profit organizations fostering efficient, streamlined delivery of resources to people affected by disaster, while eliminating unnecessary duplication of effort, through cooperation and coordination in the four phases of disaster: preparation, response, recovery and mitigation.
