VERO BEACH — The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County (HSVBIRC) is set to host its second “Art for Animals,” an art show and sale to benefit the animals of the community.

All Florida artists interested in portraying domestic animals and native wildlife through mixed media, paintings and drawings, sculpture, pottery, jewelry, needlework, and digital art are invited to exhibit their works.

Indian River County artists wishing to participate can obtain guidelines and registration information by visiting the The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County or downloading the “Art for Animals” application from the shelter’s website at www.HSVB.org.

The cost to exhibit is $10 per piece. Artists can submit up to three entries.

The deadline for artist applications is November 1. All art must be delivered to the shelter by November 19.

Co-chaired by local animal advocates Sheila Marshall and Ritz Ziegler, the event will be held at The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County, located at 6230 77th St. in Vero Beach.

A private artists’ reception will be held the evening of November 23.

The show will be open to the public and free of charge on November 24 and 25.
