VERO BEACH — A year ago, several families and friends of individuals with special needs decided it was time to pool their combined accumulation of experience, resources, and knowledge and help other families who are in the same situation as themselves.
Their goal is exactly what their mission says: education, parent training, social outreach, advocacy, and support.
Recently the “parent group” conducted a contest to choose a name. Thanks to Karen Critelli, mom of 22 year old Genna who has Down syndrome, the name for the group is The PEER Group: Parents/Families Educating and Exchanging Resources.
For more information about the group and/or to become involved in this wonderful source of information, please contact Nancy Moody at [email protected].
The Peer Group is sponsored by SunUp ARC, a Non-Profit, 501 (c) 3 agency, dedicated to meeting the needs of people with developmental disabilities in Indian River County.
