McKee announces its new 2012 Board Members and Advisors

VERO BEACH — McKee Botanical Garden announces the appointment of its 2012-2013 Board of Directors.

Board officers include J. Earl Morgan, III, president; Barbara Holmen-McKenna, first vice president; Robert W. Bauchman, second vice president; Rafael Ospina, secretary; and Susan Schuyler Smith, treasurer.

Elected to the McKee board for a term of three years each are members Marcia Blackburn, Rick Candler, Marion de Vogel, John Kurtz, Leslie McGuirk, Matt McManus, Toni Robinson, and Beth Smith.

Serving as newly elected advisors are Bill Curtis, Ginni Edwards, Joanne Hagopian, Alma Lee Loy, Helena Mahoney, and Bill Snyder.

“Our Board of Directors plays a vital role in maintaining the Garden’s presence as a community landmark and ensuring its growth and sustainability through a variety of cultural and educational programs,” said Executive Director Christine Hobart.

“We’re excited to welcome our new members and look forward to their involvement in the upcoming season. We also wish to thank our retiring board members and advisors for their numerous contributions and demonstrated support of McKee. Their dedication is greatly appreciated,” Hobart added.

Those members are Bill Glavin, Natalie Jackson, Ann Jones, and Ann Webber.

The mission of McKee Botanical Garden is to nurture and enhance a historic garden in a unique tropical setting for the education, enjoyment, and enrichment of all.

McKee Botanical Garden is located at 350 US 1 in Vero Beach.

Summer admission fees are $7 adults, $6 seniors, and $4 children ages 3 to 12. Admission is free for members and children under 3.

Hours of operation are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from Noon to 5 p.m.

The Garden is closed on Mondays.
