Jack C. Aiton, 91, died July 14, 2012.
He was born in Erie, Pa., and was a winter resident of Vero Beach for 11 years and permanent resident for 13 years, coming from Lawrence Park, Pa.
He retired as manager of maintenance for General Electric of Erie, after 40 years of service.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He was a graduate of Grove City College, Grove City, Pa., earning a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
He was a past director of the Iroquois School District, 32nd Degree Mason and a member of Tyrian Lodge 362.
He was a member of Lawrence Park Golf Club and was the Men’s Club champion and senior champion, all in Erie.
He was inducted into the Erie District Golf Association Hall of Fame.
In 1977, he played in the USGA Men’s Senior Amateur Championship.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Vero Beach.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Ruth N. Aiton; son, Thomas Aiton, of Palm Beach Gardens; daughter, Nancy Truscott, of Phoenix; sister, Rita Wilkinson, of Phoenix; five grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Doug Aiton; and brother, William Aiton.

There will be no services.
