GIFFORD — A man who has been in the Indian River County Jail since late December on unrelated charges is now facing second degree murder of a Gifford man found badly decomposed in early December.
Detective Steve Stoll obtained an arrest warrant on Edward “Eddie” Gibson, 23, of the 2800 block of 44th Street, Vero Beach, for second degree murder. He is being held at the county jail now in lieu of $250,000 bail.
The Sheriff’s Office said a Grand Jury will convene in August and the State will seek a first degree murder charge against Gibson.
No motive was released for the murder, nor the cause of the victim’s, Douglas Frasier Jr., death.
In early December, a lawn care crew working on a bank-owned property in Gifford discovered an odor, which led to the discovery of Frasier’s decomposing body. Authorities believe Frasier’s body had been there for a few months before it was found.
In March, 2012, the Sheriff’s Office arrested a 16-year-old, identified as Herbert Andre White-Jordan, on conspiracy to commit murder charges. According to the Sheriff’s Office, White-Jordan participated in a plan to kill Frasier.
