Julia Bruce Coyle, 87, died June 28, 2012.
She was born in New York City and was a longtime winter resident of Vero Beach for more than 20 years.
She graduated from The Madeira School in McLean, Va., and Smith College in Northampton, Mass.
She served as an assistant to the first female U.S. ambassador to Luxembourg.
Survivors include her children, Charles Thomas Coyle III, Christopher Bruce Coyle, Andrews Johnson Coyle and Julia Andrews Coyle; brother, Douglas Bruce of Camden, Maine; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 1/2 years, Charles T. Coyle, in 2010.
She was active in many groups and clubs in Greenwich, including LOSTS Investment Club.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. July 7 at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, Greenwich, Conn.
