Christine L. “Chris” Williamson, 81, Vero Beach

Christine L. “Chris” Williamson, 81, died June 26, 2012, at VNA/Hospice House in Vero Beach.

She was born in Providence, R.I., and was a winter resident of Vero Beach for 25 years, and full-time in 2005, coming from Cape Cod, Mass.

She was employed as a legal secretary in a criminal law office, was secretary to a congressman in Rhode Island, and also to the commanding officer of the Coast Guard Marine Safety Office in Providence.

She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach and the Vero Beach Country Club for more than 20 years.

She was a member of the Cranberry Valley Golf Club in Harwich, Mass.

Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Arnold Williamson, of Vero Beach; sons, Robert A. Williamson, of Greenville, R.I., and Steven E. Williamson, of Seal Beach, Calif.; brothers, Ralph DeMarco, of Fort Pierce and Anthony DeMarco, of Providence; sister, Sylvia White, of Warwick, R.I.; and three grandchildren.

Interment will take place at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter, R.I.

Arrangements are by Strunk Funeral Home and Crematory of Vero Beach.
