VERO BEACH — Lee Olsen, General Manager of the historical Waldo’s restaurant on Ocean Dr. in Vero Beach, announced the Christmas in July is turning into a two day event this year and expects to raise $15k for the Love Docs Charity.
Rich Dickerson and Glenn Curtis are The Love Doctors at Real Radio.
After several years of hosting on-air marathons to collect toys for children in need, they formed a nonprofit charitable organization called The Love Doctors Charities.
The charity serves local residents through an annual toy drive and a comprehensive community assistance program.
The Love Doctors Charities makes a positive impact in South Florida through a variety of projects and programs.
The charity provides:
Scholarships for children to attend Florida Diabetes Camp
Assistance to families struggling with medical or financial challenges
Equipment for special needs children and adults
School supplies for classrooms
New books for senior centers and disadvantaged youth
Every dollar helps. Whether it’s $5 or $5k, the charity utilizes the donor dollar in the most fiscally efficient manner.

Saturday, July 21
8 a.m. Cathy McCloskey Golf at Sandridge Golf Club.
11 a.m. Charity cookout opens along with the marketplace vendors, U-pick it auction, and a 50/50 raffle.
St. John’s Wood plays 1-5 p.m.
1 p.m. (est.) ball drop at Sandridge ($10 per ball, closest in wins.)
3 p.m. The winning golfing teams awards will be announced as well as the ball drop winner.
4 p.m. The 50/50 winner is announced.
5 p.m. Charity cookout closes.
Waldo’s will remain open until midnight.
Sunday, July 22
10 a.m. By land poker run opens, as well as the marketplace, U-pick it auction, and a 50/50 raffle.
11 a.m. By sea poker pub crawl starts.
12 p.m. Smoking Man takes to the stage.
2 p.m. Return of pub crawl players and also the Love Doc’s Arrival.
2:30 p.m. Return of by land poker run.
3 p.m. The winners of both poker runs are announced.
4 p.m. The 50/50 and U- pick auction winners are announced.
7:00 Waldo’s closes.
