Jennie Lou Broom, 64, died June 23, 2012, at VNA Hospice of Vero Beach.
She was born in Fort Pierce and lived in Fort Pierce before moving to Vero Beach 55 years ago.
She was a member of House of God in Oslo.
She worked as a dietitian for nursing homes.
Survivors included her husband, Abram Broom Sr., of Vero Beach; sons, Abram Broom III and Cad Broom, both of Vero Beach; daughters, Sharita Johnson, Shareen Broom and Vera Inez James, all of Vero Beach; mother, Elizabeth Williams, of Vero Beach; brothers, Artis Williams and Eugene Williams, both of Vero Beach, Tyrone Williams, of Fort Pierce and Dennis Williams and Willie Williams, both of North Carolina; sisters, Catherine Williams and Diane Williams, both of Vero Beach; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Willie Williams; son, Jackie Gilyard; daughter: Patsy Gilyard; and brothers, Oscar Lee Williams and James Williams.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. June 29 and 9 to 10 a.m. June 30 at the House of God in Oslo.
A homegoing service will be at 11 a.m. June 30 at the House of God. Burial will be in Gifford Cemetery.
