INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Indian River Chapter hosted a workshop in April featuring Bob Carter, CFRE, President of Bob Carter Companies and Chair-Elect of AFP International.
Speaking to nearly 50 local fund development professionals, Mr. Carter shared his years of experience in the area of mega gift development.
“Donors who are making a significant investment in a local nonprofit organization are interested in seeing change over time and leveraging their resources by encouraging others to join them,” said Mr. Carter.
“Mega gift donors want to be the catalyst for the achievement of outcomes as identified by the experts in the field; the nonprofit leaders.”
The AFP Indian River Chapter promotes professional development, networking, and volunteer opportunities for its more than 80 members throughout the area.
“To have access to industry leaders like Bob Carter is a significant benefit of being a member of AFP Indian River,” said Elizabeth Thomason, Boys & Girls Clubs Executive Director.
“Sharing the morning with colleagues who share a passion not only for our chosen profession but also for our community was stimulating and engaging,” Thomason added.
The AFP Indian River Chapter was officially recognized by AFP International on April 1, 2006, and launched with 16 charter members.
