Darlene Mae Abrams, 80, Vero Beach

Darlene Mae Abrams, 80, died June 21, 2012, at Harbor Chase of Vero Beach.

She was born in Dawson, Iowa, and lived in Vero Beach for 40 years, coming from North Palm Beach.

Before retirement, she was in real estate sales and was a private housekeeper.

She was a member of the Lutheran faith.

She was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader for many years in the Miami area.

Survivors include her daughters, Jeri Jean Rice, of Round Rock, Texas, Karen Lombard, of Jasper, Ala., and Lori Ann Sanchez, of Vero Beach; brother, Larry Friedrichsen, of Chesapeake, Va.; sister, Norma J. McGrew, of West Des Moines, Iowa; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Cox and John Abrams.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. June 23 at Strunk Funeral Home, Vero Beach, followed by a service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Barry Lombard officiating.
