INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Supervisor of Elections is responsible for administering all federal, state, county, municipal and special district elections in Indian River County in accordance with the Florida Election Code, the federal Help America Vote Act, the National Voting Rights Act, the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and federal voting rights laws to ensure that all elections are conducted in a fair, accurate and accessible manner.
The four-year position is currently held by Leslie Swan, who was appointed to fill the remainder of Supervisor of Elections Kay Clem’s term. She faces one challenger, Sandi Harpring.
The position has an annual salary of nearly $99,000 and the fiscal year 2011-12 budget for the Supervisor of Elections was $1.15 million.
