INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The District 1 seat on the Board of County Commissioners covers the bulk of Indian River County from State Road 60, west of 66th Avenue, north to the county line, including the City of Fellsmere and a portion of northern Sebastian.
The seat is currently held by Wesley Davis, who filed for re-election, and went uncontested. Therefore, there will be no election to fill the District 1 seat.
By default, Davis earns another 4-year term on the Board of County Commissioners. Commissioners receive an annual salary of $56,123.
The Board of County Commissioners is tasked with setting the budget and policy for Indian River County and oversees the Constitutional Officers – the Sheriff, Tax Collector, Property Appraiser, Clerk of the Circuit Court, and Supervisor of Elections.
