Bartley John Burns III, 80, died May 21, 2012, at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach.
He was born in Chicago and lived in Vero Beach.
He served in the Army during the Korean War.
He was a Chicago Democrat.
He attended St. Ignatius College Prep and graduated from Loyola University.
Survivors include his son, Daniel Parra Burns; daughter, JoEllen Muntz of Chadds Ford, Pa.; brother, Richard Burns; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Burns; and daughter, Mary Jane Miller.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 13075 U.S. 1, Sebastian, FL 32958-3734.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. May 30 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, with the Rev. John Morrissey as celebrant.
Military honors will be conducted by the Sebastian Area Veterans’ Honor Guard.
