Howard “HoJo” L. Johnson, 77, Vero Beach

Howard “HoJo” L. Johnson, 77, died May 22, 2012, at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach.

He was born in Jamestown, N.Y., and lived in Vero Beach for eight years, coming from Greenacres.

He retired as the training director with Nozzle Nolan Pest Control after more than 30 years.

He was a sergeant in the National Guard.

He was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in West Palm Beach.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Phyllis Marshall, of Vero Beach; daughters, Leslie Johnson, of South Haven, Kan., and Karen Mercado, of Jupiter; brothers, Kenneth R. Johnson, of Ruskin and Paul Johnson, of Jamestown; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Scott; and sister; Nancy.
