Charity Shoot hits target fundraising goal of $12,000

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Education Foundation of Indian River County (EF-IRC) is pleased to announce that over $12,000 was raised at the April 28 Charity Shoot hosted by Windsor at the Gun Club – Platt Station.

Sport shooting enthusiasts participated in spirit of advancing education in Indian River County for students in grades K-12. The following guests took top honors for their marksmanship:

1st Place: Deke Welles, Dede Snowden, and Karl Auersperg

2nd Place: Jeff Luther, Pat Welsh, and Hazard Campbell

3rd Place: Bill John, Chris Campione, and Bob Fields

The big-hearted support of the participants will enable the EF-IRC to provide backpacks and sneakers for over 2,000 children this year, $10,000 in professional development services, and $450,000 in college scholarships through our Indian River Regional Science and Engineering Fair.

In addition, over $272,000 in school and classroom grants will be distributed this year.

What a difference this group has made in the lives of more than 17,000 children and 1,000 teachers in Indian River County.
