Amy Selby announced as recipient of I.R.C. Hospitality Award

VERO BEACH — Amy Behm Selby, Director of Sales at Springhill Suites by Marriott-Vero Beach, is the recipient of the 2012 Indian River County Hospitality Award.

The award was presented to Selby by Monica Smiley at the 2012 Florida Tourism Month annual luncheon held by the Indian River County Chamber of Commerce. Smiley serves as the current Chairman of the Chamber’s Tourism Division.

“Our Chamber’s tourism partners voted for the individual they believed the most deserving of the 2012 Hospitality Award. Amy is a great contributor to our county’s tourism marketing and promotion and very deserving of this award,” explained Smiley. 

Selby is an active member of the Chamber’s Tourism Division where she serves as chairman of the Group Meetings Committee.

She has provided her help and experience in marketing Indian River County as a tourist destination at destination trade shows, and she has spearheaded local visitor marketing sales blitzes in Orlando and Tallahassee.

She has also assisted the Chamber with familiarization tours for travel writers, editors, and others related to the visitor industry.

Selby has worked in the hospitality industry for many years, with previous positions in sales at the Conference Center at Dodgertown in Vero Beach, FL., and Director of Sales at Hilton Worldwide – Melbourne Beach Hilton Oceanfront, Melbourne, FL.
