Ora B. Jackson, 81, died May 8, 2012, at Consulate Health Care in Vero Beach.
She was born in Gadsden, Ala., and lived in Vero Beach since 1960, coming from Bangor, Maine.
She was a homemaker.
Previously, she had worked as an X-ray technician at Indian River Memorial Hospital for 10 years and had been an assistant to Drs. Terry & Morgan, of Vero Beach, for about eight years.
She did catering as well as worked at the Ocean Grill, Hofbrauhaus, the Party Pax, and Patio Restaurant.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Vero Beach.
Survivors include her son, Gary T. Parris, of Vero Beach; daughters, Janet Humphrey, Peggy Brown and Rose Parris Cunningham, all of Vero Beach, Sheila Bland, of Sebastian, and Nancy Parris Smith, of Charleston, S.C.; stepdaughters, Jill Pollock, of Vero Beach and Jacqueline Christiansen, of Santa Barbara, Calif.; 23 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 21 years, Norman Russell “Jack” Jackson, and stepdaughter, Jeannette Polson.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. May 12 at First Baptist Church in Vero Beach.
