Uriel Barney Wetherington Jr., 83, died May 2, 2012, at his son’s home in South Carolina.
He was born in Fort Lauderdale and was a lifelong resident of Florida, including Sebastian.
Before retirement, he was a technician for Southern Bell for 30 years in Fort Pierce.
He was an Army veteran.
He was a member of Shiloh Tabernacle in Sebastian and participated in many Christian missions around the world.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Nancy Wetherington, of Sebastian; son, John L. Wetherington, of Chesnee, S.C., daughter, Martha A. Hayman, of Fort Pierce; sister, JoAnn Van Pelt, of Blairsville, Ga.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
