Pat Skalacki, 76, died April 28, 2012, at VNA/Hospice House in Vero Beach.
She was born in New York City and lived in Vero Beach for 21 years, coming from Long Island, N.Y.
She was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church, Vero Beach.
She was an advocate for people with disabilities.
She was active and served as an officer with the Huntington Auxiliary of United Cerebral Palsy of Huntington, N.Y.
She was instrumental in founding Sun Up in Vero Beach, as well as being president and board member.
Survivors include her husband, Bohdon Skalacki, of Vero Beach; daughters, Mary Beth Higgins, Justine Higgins and Ann Louise Skalacki, all of Vero Beach, and Julie Ann Skalacki, of Long Island; sons, John R. Skalacki and Brendan W. Skalacki, both of Long Island, N.Y.; and three grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sun Up/ARC, 2455 Fifth St. S.W., Vero Beach, FL 32962.
A memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. May 9 at St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach.
