Fourth annual “Yappy Hour” will be held on May 6

VERO BEACH — Blue Ribbon Charitable Foundation presents its Fourth Annual “Yappy Hour” on Sunday, May 6.

This year the event is sponsored by Indian River Estates to “unleash” its new dog park. The fun begins at 3 p.m. and ends at 6 p.m.

A Dixieland jazz band will be providing entertainment, and an old-fashioned cookout will be available.

All are welcome and encouraged to bring your well-behaved, leashed pets. This is a chance for your pet and you to meet and mingle with other pets and people.

There will be a K-9 police dog demonstration by the Indian River County Sheriff’s Department so you can see these working dogs and officers in action.

There is no cost to attend, but donations for the Indian River Sheriff’s Department K-9 fund will be accepted and greatly appreciated.

Raffle tickets for some great prizes will be available for purchase, with proceeds from this event going to that fund.

As you may be aware, the Sheriff’s Department had to retire two of their dogs this year. They had expected to only have to replace one.

If you plan to attend, please RSVP by calling (772) 567-2123.

If you cannot attend, but would like to make a donation to the IRC Sheriff’s K-9 Fund or Blue Ribbon Charitable Foundation, please contact Martin at (772) 567-2123 or www.BlueRibbonCharitableFoundation.org.
