VERO BEACH — Are your children interested in playing summer basketball? The time to sign up is now.
The Indian River County Recreation Department is now taking registrations for the 2012 summer basketball season, and spots are filling up fast. Five requests for a team or coach will be honored, if possible, on a first come first serve basis.
This co-ed league is designed to teach the fundamentals of basketball, sportsmanship, discipline, and most importantly, fun. We encourage all kids ages 6-15 to participate this season.
All participants will receive a game jersey and an end of the season trophy. Player fees are $35, and sponsor fees are $150.
Birth certificates are required at time of registration.
Teams will be separated by age divisions as follows:
Mighty Mite 6-8 yrs. old
Midgets 9-10 yrs. old
Juniors 11-12 yrs. old
Seniors 13-15 yrs. old
Playing age must be reached by August 31, 2012.
Coaches, officials, and sponsors are needed for all age groups.
Sign up will be at the County Administration Building, North County Aquatic Center, or Gifford Aquatic Center between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
