Master’s Academy to host “Sights and Sounds” Concert from the Performing Arts Dept.

VERO BEACH — Master’s Academy will host its Sights and Sounds Concert on Friday, May 4, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. This annual event is a highlight of the Fine and Performing Arts Department showcasing artwork from students in kindergarten through twelfth grades and musical and choral performances by students in third through twelfth grades.

Drama students will set the tone of the program through the theme “Being Sensitive to the Lord” by referencing David’s 139th Psalm, which extols God’s marvelous works.

Music, art, and drama augment awareness and sensitivity in our children and are, therefore, an integral part of the complete education offered by Master’s Academy.

The juried art show will feature the creativity and talent of students through two and three dimensional artwork, sculptures, mosaics, paintings, portraits, and sketches.

Artworks are representation of the artists that were studied throughout this year including: Giotto, Bernini, Rembrandt, Charles W. Peale, and Winslow Homer. The curriculum also includes the study of Creation and Mesopotamian art.

Musical performances will surround the theme: “Being Sensitive to the Lord.” A stage backdrop created by upper school art students will showcase the theme of the senses with Scripture from Corinthians, Mark and John.

Performances will include third and fourth grade recorders, choir, band, jazz band and strings. Students receive instruction in a variety of musical genres and will perform classics by Mozart and Beethoven, Spanish and marching songs, and contemporary numbers such as “Yellow” by Coldplay.

This event is located at Master’s Academy at 1105 58th Ave. in Vero Beach.

The event is free and open to the public.
