Emily Leahy Snipes, 101, died April 14, 2012, in Vero Beach.
She was born in Redding, Conn., and came to St. Augustine in 1948.
She lived and worked in the Cape Canaveral area before moving to Sebastian in 1981.
She taught school in Jacksonville and St. Augustine until her husband was transferred overseas to Morocco.
She then taught the children of military personnel in Morocco until her husband was transferred back to the states in 1952 with Florida their final destination.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. May 1 at Fountainhead Memorial Park in Palm Bay.
