These are in addition to the four-year scholarships they award through Dollars for Scholars. This year, the audition process yielded six very talented students.
At the Brevard Symphony Orchestra concert on April 15, president Ray Mitchell presented one-year scholarship awards to the following students:
Thomas Ingui, organ and piano, Charter High School – $2,500
Trevor Klutz, violin and guitar, Vero Beach High School – $2,500
Mariel dos Santos, soprano and violin, Vero Beach High School – $1,500
Safa El-Zein, soprano and violin, Vero Beach High School – $1,500
Samantha Barcus, violin, Vero Beach High School – $1,000
Danielle Harris, double bass and electric bass, Charter High School – $1,000
Just before the concert started, Tom Ingui performed a Bach prelude on the piano, and then accompanied Mariel dos Santos as she sang Samuel Barber’s “Sure on this Shining Night”.
