As I pack up my photo albums for an upcoming move, I think about all the memories in them and how they are irreplaceable, tangible, NOT DIGITAL.
Yes, film is dead, unless you’re an art student. But for the everyday person if you want to preserve memories, family trips, good times, you print out your photos for as low as 19 cents per photo.
With facebook’s acquiring Instagram, (which I am now using @VeroNews_keith) I worry that people are putting faith in these services that they will always be around and that nothing will happen to their account.
I am not a curmudgeon when it comes to photography or social media by any means. But, there’s just something about being able to flip through a photo album instead of looking at photos on a screen, if for any other reason to save your eyes from looking at one more screen during your day.
So, for your child’s sake, print out photos of the big moments in your life instead of relying on facebook’s timeline to be etched in stone.
