FELLSMERE — The first 15 nameplates for the Old Fellsmere School’s auditorium are ready for the engraver now that the Fellsmere City Council has selected the plate that will be used. There are still 200 nameplates available for “sale” – to benefit the Old Fellsmere School – which will be affixed to the seats in the auditorium.
“We had a number of donors,” City Manager Jason Nunemaker said as a lead up to asking the council to choose from two potential plates.
Those who make a donation for the auditorium get a nameplate in recognition for their support. Nameplates are available for those who donate between $250 and $1,000 – the larger the donation, the closer to the stage the name plate would be placed.
City Clerk Debbie Krages told the council that the first of the two nameplates is the most durable, adding, “Jason had to work pretty hard to put a scratch on it.”
Mayor Susan Adams agreed that the first one might be the better one to go with, explaining that the thinner nameplate might work better with the filigree being used.
City Councilman Daniel Naranjo noted the second one was thicker – a possible drawback.
“That might attract picking,” Krages warned.
