Registration for Dog Training Classes begins April 9

VERO BEACH — It’s time to sit, stay and learn.

Registration for The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County’s (HSVB & IRC) puppy and dog training classes will begin Monday, April 9, at 9 a.m. and run through April 24 until classes are filled.

The cost for 6 weeks of training is $35, with all registration fees directly benefiting the animals of Indian River county.

Registration will be held at The Humane Society, located at 6230 77th St. in Vero Beach.

The Humane Society’s dog training programs have been designed to accommodate most any schedule. Wednesday morning classes begin on April 25 and are held from 11a.m. – 12 p.m.

Thursday evening classes commence on April 26 and are scheduled from 7-8 p.m.

Saturday afternoon classes start on April 28 and will be conducted from 1-2 p.m.

What exactly will your dog learn? Classes at The HSVB & IRC teach basic commands such as “sit,” “down,” and “stay.” Pet parents will also learn how to correct leash bad habits such as pulling, door bolting and jumping.

Classes are taught by HSVB & IRC Pet Behavior Coordinator Connie Ellis, certified by the National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors (NADOI).

Class size is limited and payment may be made at The Humane Society by check or cash.

Choice of class is on a first come, first serve basis.

For further information, contact Connie Ellis at (772) 388-3331, Ext. 19.
