4 chances to nab Easter eggs in hunts across county

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Indian River County Recreation Department, along with the City of Sebastian, will be hosting several Easter Egg hunts this week, starting with one Monday evening at the North County Aquatic Center.

Monday’s hunt will be held at 6:30 p.m. for children ages infant to 8. The Water Egg Hunt will be held at the children’s swimming area, which will be covered in plastic Easter eggs floating on the surface. Children can scoop up the eggs.

Children are encouraged to bring baskets instead of plastic bags, wear swimsuits and bring towels.

The next event will be the Indoor Flashlight Egg Hunt on Tuesday at 7:45 p.m. for those infants to 12. Children are encouraged to bring flashlights to the Gifford Youth Activities Center. The lights in the gym of the GYAC will be turned off and the flashlights will be turned on during this very special egg hunt.

On Thursday, the county will host its Outdoor Flashlight Egg Hunt “Egg”stravaganza at 7:30 p.m. for those infants to 8. Children are encouraged to bring flashlights to the South County Park, where the event will be held.

The “Egg”stravaganza will start at sunset and prizes will be awarded to all participants. Golden Eggs and special Easter Baskets will be given in all age groups.
