He was born in Gloversville, N.Y., and lived in Sebastian for 12 years, coming from Lake Worth.
Before retirement, he worked for the city of Lake Worth as the print shop supervisor.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Forces in the China-Burma-India Theatre.
He was a member of the Ancient Order of Foresters and a volunteer firefighter in New York and a member of the American Legion Post 39 of Vero Beach and Sebastian River Medical Center Auxiliary.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Eleanor Gifford; daughters, Linda Boyington, of Vero Beach and Debbie McLeod, of Albertville, Minn.; sister, Ruth Gilbert, of Live Oak; five grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A celebration of life memorial will be during the summer at the Seawinds Funeral Home in Sebastian.
