Sheriff’s Office seeks public’s help closing case of decomposing body

GIFFORD — The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in closing the case of the decomposing body found late last year in the area of the 4800 block of 61st Court in Gifford. Already, a teen has been arrested, charged with conspiracy to commit murder and a person of interest is in jail on unrelated charges.

The Sheriff’s Office’s investigative team is asking the community for assistance in gathering additional information that could further the prosecution of this case. Information can be called into Law Enforcement through Crime Stoppers, 1-800-273-TIPS (8477), or by contacting Detective Steve Stolle at (772) 978-6119. Callers can remain anonymous and still be eligible for a $1,000 reward.

Since Dec. 7, the Sheriff’s Office has been investigating the murder of Douglas Frasier Jr., whose decomposing body was discovered by a lawn crew. Throughout the course of the investigation, detectives identified a person of interest – who has not been publicly named – and 16-year-old Herbert Andre White-Jordan.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, White-Jordan participated in a plan to kill Frasier. Investigators believe they are close to charging the principle suspect in the case, which is why the public’s help is being sought.
