Vero Beach Aviation Day 2012 scheduled for March 17

VERO BEACH — On Saturday March 17 the Vero Beach Municipal Airport will host Vero Beach Aviation Day 2012 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Airport Terminal Building. This will be the 10th consecutive year that Aviation Day, which is a community relations effort of the Airport and Experimental Aircraft Association Indian River Chapter 99, has been held.

Aviation Day features approximately 50 aircraft on static display, including classic, amateur-built, new production and military aircraft. Flybys are conducted throughout the event, and rides are available in World War II aircraft as well as helicopters. Food and merchandise vendors and exhibitors are also part of the event.

History Flight will once again be headlining Vero Beach Aviation Day with their North American B-25 and T-6, and Boeing Stearman. Among other aircraft expected to be on hand for the event are a civilian Douglas A-4C Navy attack jet, a Grumman OV-1D Mohawk recon/light attack aircraft, a Goodyear FG-1D Corsair, and several North American T-28 Navy trainer aircraft.

Admission for Aviation Day is $5 per person or $10 per family, with veterans admitted free. Free car parking is available in the vicinity of the Airport Terminal Building.
