Arrests pending after grow house found in Vero Lake Estates

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office expects to make arrests after shutting down a marijuana grow house discovered over the weekend in the Vero Lake Estates community in north Indian River County.

Authorities found 51 mature marijuana plants inside a home in the area of the 8000 block of 99th Court after neighbors in the area complained of an unusual odor.

The Sheriff’s Office investigated the reports of the odor and discovered the home, seizing the plants. According to the report, the plants would yield an estimated 2 pounds of marijuana every 90 days – an estimated street value of $102,000 every three months.

The Sheriff’s Office has arrest warrants pending for those suspected of running the operation. The suspects names and descriptions were not immediately released to the public.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the house was set up to include a diverted power source, a water source and was equipped with other paraphernalia typically used to cultivate and distribute marijuana.
