Humane Society’s “Cause for Paws” event set for March 29 & 30

VERO BEACH —  Please join The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County (HSVB&IRC) for its annual Cause for Paws Preview Party and Charity Auction on Thursday, March 29 and Friday, March 30. Proceeds raised from these popular fundraisers will help the more than 6,000 animals cared for by HSVB&IRC each year. One of Vero Beach’s most anticipated events, Cause for Paws provides guests with a unique selection of silent and live auction items featuring exclusive vacations, fine art, jewelry and antiques at the spacious Vero Beach Museum of Art.

The Cause for Paws Preview Party will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2012 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Vero Beach Museum of Art Atrium. At this more intimate function, guests can enjoy a buffet dinner and open bar while viewing highly desirable treasures available for bidding and immediate purchase. The evening’s special guest is Ms. Florida 2009, veterinarian Juli Goldstein. The Preview Party is being graciously hosted by Sally Anderson, Jo Ann Becker, Sandy Crowell, Betsy Forrester, Virginia Schwerin, Jean Shropshire and Maria Whittle.

The Cause for Paws Benefit Auction is set for Friday, March 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Vero Beach Museum of Art Great Hall. Guests will now be able to bid on silent auction items anywhere in the room using personal wireless devices provided at the event. The live auction includes a photo safari in Zulu Nyala, South Africa, A Royal Clipper Caribbean cruise and a stay at a deluxe midtown Manhattan apartment. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres and open bar are included with music performed by Old Barber Bridge.

Tickets to attend both the exclusive March 29 Preview Party and March 30 Cause for Paws Auction are $250 per person. Tickets solely for the March 30 Cause for Paws Auction are $125 per person.
