Charles E. “Chuck” Miller, 78, Vero Beach

Charles E. “Chuck” Miller, 78, died Feb. 25, 2012, at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.

He was born in Peekskill, N.Y., and had been a resident of Vero Beach for 15 years, coming from his birthplace.

He was a Navy veteran, serving in the Korean War.

Prior to retirement, he worked as an emergency supervisor for Consolidated Edison in New York for 41 years.

He was a graduate of Mechanics Institute of Technology in New York City.

He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach.

He was a past member of Knights of Columbus, Lions Club, United Way, Tin Can Sailors and was captain of Colombian Fire Engine Co.

He also was elected to Common Council in Peekskill.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Mary Ellen Frost, of Vero Beach; and sisters, Patricia Wassil, of Buchanan, N.Y., and Virginia DiCola, of Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Miller.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at a later date at Assumption Catholic Church in Peekskill.
