Kayavibe to play at movie fundraiser at Majestic

VERO BEACH — The Saint Edward’s youth committee founded by Colby Lufkin is hosting a movie fundraiser to support the up-and-coming local band Kayavibe, whose members all graduated from Vero Beach High School.

The fundraiser, featuring the movie Act of Valor, takes place at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27 at the Majestic Theater. The tickets are $30 each, which includes the movie ticket, a small drink and small popcorn.

Proceeds benefit Kayavibe, which will be there playing one of their songs in the Theater before the movie starts.

The local reggae/dance band has recently signed with the Rah Rah Rah Record Label. Their mix of contemporary reggae rhythms, combined with the catchy hooks and smooth delivery of vocalist Brandon Gibbons, give Kayavibe a sound that is sure to get lodged in your brain.

Jamie Irvin provides the silky smooth guitar solos while bassist Nick Novak and drummer Matt Richardson provide the foot-tapping rhythms.
