Francis A. Luciano, 79, Vero Beach

Francis A. Luciano, 79, died Feb. 21, 2012, at his home.

He was born in Westbury, N.Y., and lived in Vero Beach since August, coming from South Huntington, N.Y.

He was a veteran of the Coast Guard.

He was a parishioner of St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach.

He was an active member of Local 138, International Union of Operating Engineers of Farmingdale, N.Y., serving as an apprentice instructor and member of the grievance board.

He was a member of the Utsayantha Post #1379 of the American Legion and the Kiwanis Club, both in Stamford, N.Y.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Patricia A. Luciano, of Vero Beach; sons, Robert Luciano, of Halfmoon, N.Y., and Gregory Luciano, of South Huntington, N.Y.; daughter, Patricia Graceffa, of Vero Beach; brothers, Nicholas Luciano, of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Christopher Luciano, of Big Pine Key; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Antoinette Luciano.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Feb. 28 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach.
