Emily “Millie” Nelson, 98, died Feb. 16, 2012, at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach.
She was born in England, coming to Vero Beach 10 years ago from Whiting, N.J.
During World War II, she returned to England to help in the war effort.
Before retiring, she was a nanny for many years in England and New York.
She crocheted afghans for Boggy Creek Gang and enjoyed bingo and Bunco.
She was a member of Living Lord Lutheran Church, Vero Beach.
Survivors include her brother, George Wood, of Dunnington, York, England; and sister, Nora Martin, of Fareham, Hampshire, England.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nels Nelson.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Feb. 23 at Living Lord Lutheran Church, Vero Beach.
