James Joseph Flick, 88, Sebastian

James Joseph Flick, 88, died Feb. 15, 2012, at The Place at Vero Beach.

He was born in Tarentum, Pa., living in Marietta, Ga., for 25 years and moving to Miami before retiring to Sebastian.

He began his career in the airline industry as a mechanic and worked his way up to a flight engineer, where he worked for several airlines including Eastern and National before retiring from Pan Am.

He served in the Army Air Force during World War II.

He was an active member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Sebastian; was a volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Shop; and volunteered with the Knights of Columbus, Holy Name Society and the Cursillo Movement.

Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Terri M. Flick, of Sebastian; sons, Kenneth, James, Vincent and Christopher Flick; daughter, Rosemarie Flick Thiele; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Feb. 20 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Sebastian, with Father Michael Martin officiating.

Arrangements are by Strunk Funeral Home and Crematory, Sebastian.
