World War II vet speaks of combat memories at Schumann Hall

VERO BEACH —  World War II veteran, author and historian, Paul C. Wilson will speak about his memories of the war at Schumann Hall Senior Center, 686 14th St. in Vero Beach on Feb. 17 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. This event is free and the public is invited to attend.

Paul Wilson joined the U.S. Army after graduating from high school during World War II. Following his military service, Wilson reentered civilian life, attending college and embarking on a successful, 28-year career practicing medicine. He lives in Crystal Lake, Illinois and spends winter in Vero Beach.

His book, The Sunset War, follows Wilson’s journey starting with his graduation from high school during World War II. After enlisting and completing basic training, Wilson moved on to Milne Bay, New Guinea where he joined the 41st division.

Mr. Wilson invites everyone to ask questions about his experiences.
