Thomas Jefferson topic of next VBMA Distinguished Professor Lecture

VERO BEACH — As part of its 2012 Distinguished Professor Series, the Vero Beach Museum of Art presents Richard Guy Wilson, Ph.D., Professor of Art History, University of Virginia. Wilson’s lecture, titled Thomas Jefferson and the Design of the Academical Village, takes place on Wednesday Feb. 29 at 2 p.m.

Jefferson’s architectural design for the University of Virginia, its inspiration and the process by which Jefferson constructed his iconic Academical Village will be discussed. Professor Richard Guy Wilson will show examples of Jefferson’s original drawings and how he assembled support to create the University.

Alumni of the featured schools enjoy the Museum member price for this series. The cost for individual lecture tickets is $20 for the general public and $15 for Museum members and alumni.
