Free talk “Caring for your senior cat” Feb. 22 at Humane Society

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County (HSVB & IRC) is hosting the talk “Caring for your senior pet,” on Wednesday Feb. 22 from 1-2 p.m. The event is free and will be held at the shelter’s Adoption and Education Center located at 6230 77th St., Vero Beach.

The featured speaker is Vero Beach veterinarian Suzanne Gambella. Dr. Gambella will review the most common health concerns she hears from families with older cats including thyroid problems, feline kidney disease and cancer.

A question and answer session will follow.

Dr. Gambella is a 1997 graduate of the University of Florida’s School of Veterinary Medicine and has been practicing exclusively on cats for the last fourteen years. She owns and operates the Cat Hospital of Vero Beach, a full service feline-exclusive hospital.
